I understand it isn't proper for Tessa to show up in Jem's room in the middle of the night, but what're you hinting at with your damn remark? From the first page till the last one, moments never got boring and there were always thrilling and exciting ones.

These characters learning the ins-and-outs of that system allows the Reader to learn along with them naturally, without it feeling info-dumpy. I don't think I've made it any great secret that I despise the writings of Cassandra Clare - so let me get the, few, good points out of the way so I can go back to imagining a world where authors like this are forcibly chained to their desks and made to read their own stories over and over again until they’re sorry. Tessa helps Will take his medicine and they briefly kiss, not before Tessa heard the name 'Cecily' being whispered by Will. I’m the first one to admit that this book has a very slow pacing and that there isn’t an awful lot of action, let alone an intriguing plot. The rest of the book is based around her discovering the Shadow world and making a life with the new people she encounters. But Tessa doesn’t have Clary’s wit and strength, and her obsession with what is proper and right might be realistic for the girl of the 19th century, but it annoyed me a lot. It was rather boring at times and the story dragged heavily, especially in the middle and towards the end. He defended Charlotte when the Enclave talked over her and the way he takes care of Jem and worries about him is adorable. The gentle, 'good boy' Jem is Simon in disguise, Jem is being designed to be the weaker part of the love triangle, I like him just as I like Simon, but I have nothing more to say about him.

First off, I honestly haven’t been spoiled for anything in this series (thank God), b An investigation of the dagger found with her body and the symbol of a double ouroboros leads them to the Pandemonium Club. Magnus Bane - the lover of Camille, Magnus would be a helper to Tessa and the Shadowhunters of the London Institute, particularly Will Herondale.I had started "City of Bones" (the first book of The Mortal Instruments by the same author) but it didn't work for me so I thought this could be the same but I was totally wrong. When Tessa regains consciousness, she is at the London Institute and being studied by Brother Enoch, a Silent Brother, who informs her that she is not quite human; perhaps a Downworlder, seemingly a warlock, or an Eidolon demon, but she has no warlock mark whatsoever. I feel like I’m always bothered by the lack of agency for female protagonists from this era, but no. They start as strangers that form a friendship and by the end of the book both of them begin to feel more for each other than mere affection.
