Description

I had 2 extra green squares, so I put them on he bottom between the tree and the circular base which made the tree taller and not look so squat. Below, I’ve shown how to build it step by step for those who might struggle making sense of the instructions. A pretty fun gimmick, and I like that there’s some innovation in the advent calendar, and this should hopefully be very playable for families!

Looking back at the calendars, I probably prefer 2020 slightly over this one, as it helped complete the set of characters for the Yule ball, and it had some really nice micro-scale builds, I’ve subsequently added to a MOC (my own creation) of a “Goblet of Fire book”. Includes Harry Potter™, Ron Weasley™, Hermione Granger™, Draco Malfoy™, Dudley Dursley and Griphook minifigures, plus buildable models such as Gringotts' gold vault. Many of the scenes and locations referenced here, such as Dudley’s pig tail, the Diagon Alley entrance all have Hagrid’s fingerprints, and I think it’s such a huge miss that we didn’t get a Santa-version of Hagrid, which would have been absolutely perfect. Anyway, thank you so much to everyone who has been following the 2021 LEGO Harry Potter Advent Calendar countdown every day, going on this journey to Hogwarts together!

Following on from Day 1’s Privet Drive sign, this version of Harry Potter is significant as he’s dressed in the outfit where he receives the deluge of Hogwarts letters, much to the annoyance of the Dursleys. I was wondering whether anybody knows why the movies choose to make these changes and why LEGO chooses to reflect the movies as opposed to the books in their sets and calendars. This pile of galleons attaches itself to the Gringotts vault, allowing you to open the door, for Harry be amazed and discover that he’s secretly filthy rich. When picking Harry up from the Dursleys, Hagrid casts a spell on Dudley, threatening to turn him into a pig – adding just a pig tail as a warning. It’s great to get such a substantial build for Day 21, and it looks like we’re near the end of Harry’s journey to Hogwarts.

There was quite a lot of Sellotape holding the flap in place, and this was a little tricky to remove without damaging the box.I completely missed how the black piece played into this build and the proper orientation, so now it looks a LOT better than when I first set it up. To be honest, I have no idea what any additional costs might be, but if it only a small increase, I think Hagrid is a much better choice for the calendar, as he played a key role in many parts of Harry’s journey to Hogwarts. Hen building the spinner we lined up the side color pieces with the colors on the top of the spinner. ORIGINAL DESIGN: Exclusive products are included and have been created especially for the Advent Calendar. The accompanying mini builds are a nice assortment of Christmas requisites like trees and snowmen alongside some suitably magical items, including chocolate frog displays and a cask of butter beer.

Include one less envelope (got that one on 2 December), but include chimney – for example as my attempt below. Check the competition post for details – entries are due 4 January, so you still have plenty of time to build something. He should come with a pink umbrella, which he can use to punish children, who eat cake before given permission (see 8 December entry). The LEGO® Harry Potter™ Advent Calendar (76390) contains 24 daily gifts for kids to reveal throughout December’s build-up to Christmas. The functionality works pretty well and while the build is quite simple, it does the job pretty well. You get Harry, Ron, Hermione, plus Malfoy, Hedwig, Dudley and a Gringotts goblin along with props for each scene so it's a great little set. This is LEGO’s third year of Harry Potter Advent Calendars, and to freshen up the formula, there is some sort of game built into the Advent Calendar this year which I’m excited to see unfold. It’s a very basic build, with 2 studs, and space to load up your items, as well as a handle for Harry to push. This a great alternative to chocolate advent calendars and the builds can be added to other Lego sets.
