Technicalities SoundstageThe stage size of the KBear KB01 feels average to slightly above average all the way around. Sometimes, I do notice that the upper midrange sounds off especially when it comes to trumpets and trombones in orchestras where it sounds thin and unpleasant. It's impressive how Fiio has considered the upgrade path for E7 DAC owners by integrating an iPod-style dock connector into the E9. I liked that the KBEAR KS1 uses 2 pin connectors, as I’m not a fan of MMCX connectors in general, as they tend to have shorter longevity especially if cables are swapped too much.

I had to wake them up to see what’s included, you’ll see from the below image you get: 1x Pair of Earphones, 1x 2Pin TFZ Cable, 2x Pairs of Silicon Ear Tips, 1x Chinese/English User Guide. The resulting tuning should be comfortable to most listeners, as it's non-intrusive and well-balanced, perfect for all-purpose applications, but might not be detailed enough for analytical listening. Hi-hats seems to fare better on this one as it depicts its natural sound to have the shortened, abrupt harsh sizzle. Others who don’t have that particular sensitivity and those willing to EQ that range down a bit are greeted with a very pleasant signature with good detail and speed. Earphone after earphone and advertisement after advertisement get displayed upon many Facebook group walls every week it seems.KBEAR says that they combined a 10mm composite diaphragm dynamic driver and balanced armature driver to create KS2. Pianos sound a bit more warmer and round sounding in most cases that I have tested some tracks with piano pieces.

According to KBEAR, the cabinet cavity of the KBEAR KS2 is made of an imported high-density PC material which can suppress the diffuse reflection of sound waves inside the cavity.

There’re also many KZ sets like the KZ D-Fi ( D-Fi Review HERE), the CCA Duo ( Duo Review HERE), the KZ X-HBB PR2 ( PR2 Review HERE) among a few others.

Overall the fit is universal and the contours are rounded and safe enough for those folks who don’t like protruding wings. One more thing, please read, listen to, or watch other reviews so you can make a better educated decision. Mid bass is more focused on the bass region as it gives an excess amount of body on some instruments and male vocals (bloat). It doesn’t suffer from the usual sibilant hyperboosted treble/upper mids that plague a lot of budget CHIFI sets. Because of the bleeding lows, layering and imaging suffer a little on track with looming bass notes, otherwise it is quite decent in being distinct with other sound sources(again, excluding low sounding source) whilst the staging is just average. For non-nerds, this graph means that these earphones are the dogs nuts and are great for all music

The KB01 comes across with a slight warmth and a tinge of neutrality and sounds very nice without any great coloration across the mix. This type of tuning will certainly suit their preferences even better by just simply enjoying the hard hitting bass beats and feeling the pleasure of the cacophonic essence of the club music like house, dance, disco and techno genres. Sub BassThe sub-bass has a pretty deep growl and does give a good vibration though not at the level of the mid-bass.On imaging, it portrays a more 2-channel stereo presentation as I was able to locate the positioning of vocals and instruments on both left and right. And, with a 4-core 4N pure copper cable, a lightweight 10mm high polymer PET diaphragm, I was so excited. It may be wise to pair the KB01 with at least an SPC cable, but this is certainly not a requirement or even needed. It is the staging here that I have gripes with where the vocals aren’t really in the “middle” but somewhat pushed back. The treble is completely non-offensive and yet still will provide some lift up top and slight vibrancy.
